Transforming Futures

As a Design Technology Magnet School, Alex Green encourages students to become junior innovators and thought leaders. We have intentional movement in ELA, math, science and social studies so our students are ready to build a better world. Students bring their unique perspectives to the design thinking process - empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test. It helps young minds turn big ideas into real solutions.

Fostering Creativity 

Students at Alex Green develop apps to help younger students, use Canva to redesign the school bathrooms, or create a miniature prototype of a playground made from clay. This is a glimpse of what happens at Alex Green, where our students are no longer using traditional methods to express their understanding, but rather the technologies of our adult world. Students engage in the Design Studio each week, focusing on semester-long, grade-specific design projects that enhance their creative and practical skills.

Alex Green's design technology theme-based instruction is built on effective teaching strategies and engaging learning experiences to prepare students for college, careers and civic engagement. Our teachers focus on building safe and nurturing relationships with students so they are ready to be active, curious and successful learners.
